ACL Graft Preparation
 Background //

The Koco Clamp was developed by Dr. Koco Eaton. Dr. Eaton has been the team physician for the Tampa Bay Rays, the Buccaneers, and the Tampa Bay Rowdies. The clamp was developed out of frustration with the lack of precision for contouring the bone on an ACL graft, especially when the bone is hard which is the case for young athletes. The Koco Clamp allows the surgeon to make exact cuts with a sagittal saw, alleviating the need to use a Rongeur and whittle away at the bone. The clamp allows exact cuts so that the final graft has the diagonal measurement of 10 mm. Smaller sizes can be achieved by simply rounding off the edges to create a circular graft. The clamp is also a secure tool to hold the graft while drilling holes to pass sutures into the bone plug. Simply put, the Koco Clamp allows you to make the same graft size for each ACL. Whether you do five ACLs a year or fifty, the Koco Clamp will make the graft preparation a predictable and stable outcome.
